Hey guys,

Im not sure whether what speed sensor i need to look for as the motor im buying is missings its speed sensor. The engine is b18c2 out of a teg 95 model. The engine will be going into my 92EG. Could someone please tell me whether i could just get any b series speed sensor or will i need the one that came with the motor.

Cheers, Simo

Most likely any b-series vss will fit.
I replaced mine and it was obvious it wasnt the same and it works perfectly. If you know what the original one looks like maybe try take a picture or something to the wreckers and they will find one for you, im pretty sure you can even use ones from non hondas if they are the same shape and plug............

Another idea, because its reasonably easy to quicly plug them in, ask the wreckers if you can take it for a quick drive with it in and if it doesnt work if they will give you your money back.

Good luck!

As the motor i am purchasing doesn't have the speed sensor attached, i dont actually know how it physically looks like, but thanks.

any b or d series will fit and work....just swap over the final drive cog from your existing VSS to make sure.

yes you can use the standard speed sensor from your car. You MAY have to swap the cog + shaft (that sits inside and reads off the final drive).....if you take the VSS out you will understand what i mean.
