Well I've been a member on here for about 3 years now but I never really bothered to post up much when I first joined because I had a prelude. My name is Bron and I'm a 23 year old female from Melbourne. I sold the lude over a year ago and now have an EK1. There isn't really any civic specific forums out there that look any good, but this is the closest thing to 'civic australia' so I thought I'd finally post up a few pics and stuff of my ride.

I bought my civic about a year and a half ago from another member here. When I bought it it came with recaro's in the front, mugen replica 15" wheels, ctr grille, xforce twinloop exhaust, CTR front lip, super low springs, clear side indicators and a type r gear knob.
Since then I've done the following:

16" wheels
carbon fibre hood
carbon fibre spoon wing (haven't put it on yet)
carbon fibre spoon mirrors (haven't put them on yet)
CTR steering wheel
CTR shift boot
LED taillights
projector headlights
CTR rear lip
shaved the front and relocated the number plates
CTR handbrake cover
ITR rear seat (haven't put this in yet either)

I want to get the rear shaved up and also the side mouldings eventually.

Now I'm planning on doing some engine mods and suspension mods so will be on here a lot more to get ideas and advise etc. So hopefully I'll find the forum much more useful now :) Here's a few shots...

Thanks guys.
I bought them from a member on here. I've never seen them before on any other civic, so I'm guessing they're pretty rare. They're like stockies - but cleaner and with LED's.
Here's a better pic:

very nice EK you got there Bron. i wish they have that kind of taillights for the DC2, not ricey imo. i noticed you dont have an aftermarket air intake installed. that would be a good place to start your engine mod! welcome to ozhonda!

salutations Bron,

if your looking at doing an upgrade to your intake system this might help you out a bit. A guy has made a DIY article on how to remove the airbox and resonator out of the EK..

Good luck and have fun

not sure. if anything most likely just a b16 is all i could afford. but my bf is just about to get a b18cr put in his crx... so maybe wait and see how that works out first and who knows maybe i'll be inspired to get a k24 or something crazy haha

cant go wrong with b series...plus they have ample potential..

k24 would be sick..

Wei at Vision R in perth is getting a built k26 from us...thats the way to go.

Stroked k24?

If i was to K series i would turbo also... Bulk torque and alot of top end power.

yeh stroked k24..fully worked looking at about 240-250 at wheels minimum i think (dont quote me on that)

hahaha turbo k-series wouldnt be streetable at all....standard k20 struggles for traction as it is..no doubt even a b16a turbo does?

FastFwd
10-09-2009, 03:31 PM
ohh my civic gets limited traction and mines on around 240 atw's on a light tune with 10psi...when i pump it up to 24psi its going to skaters on ice.

k24 would just have alot more torque than my b16...love torque in a light car. Feels like it just wants to Go all the time.

tbh anything over 200hp atw in a civic is going to have traction issues full stop...unless its 4wd lol...wat tyres u run on ur eg?

Im still revising my traction setup. currently upgraded to...

Exedy Racing clutch
Mfactory LSD
Hancook sports Quarter slicks 235/35/18

Still get no traction in second and less in first. But ive found im having some issue with my suspension. I have found that alot of my bushings are worn even tho they dont look or feel like it under visual inspection. So ive purchased...

The Eneregy suspension polyurethane Master Kit

and these in the prothane Polyurethane bushings:

Front Shock Mount
Shifter Stabilizer
Front Control Arm Bushings
Rear Trailing Arm Bushings
Rear Compensator Arm Bushings
Steering Rack Bushings
Ball Joint Dust Boot
Front Sway Bar Bushings
Tie rod ends

Need to install it all next week but after that i should get alot less torque steer and a smoother ride = more tyre to the ground on take off = more traction.

IMO the K&N is pretty good, probably won't find much gain with anything else. Stripping the resonator out is a quick and easy job though.

The bushing setup man not as much as you think...i got the master kit missing front LCA's for $110 which came with half of the bushings. then i ordered every other bushing on the whole car from prothane ES USA for $320 delivered.

So in the end it came to $430 for complete polyurethan setup. The master kit only comes with the cheaper handfull of bushings. The expensive ones are the compensator arms etc which makes the biggest difference to handling and dont come in the kits.

I will do the replacements myself but i went pedders and they charged me $2500 just for parts. Labour would have cost around $1000 aswell.
