Ive used Castrol gtx the last service and was not impressed..

So this time im Tossin up between Castrol Magnatec 10w-40 or Honda feo?

Which one would you guys recomend?

cars is Eg gl d15b4 twin carb 220,000ks Burns abit of oil..

Just had a look at Honda service manual, It says 10w-40>?

how much do Honda charge for feo?

Does it matter what oil filter i use? or ryco supercheap will do?

thanks for your help

honda FEO is 10-30w.

Use it , change every 5,000ks.

Since the engine is abit older and uses abit of oil , try any mineral 10/20w-30/40w oil. Its all really the same thing lol.

imo yes. Its general puprose for all hondas.

PS go to super-cheap auto , and get the CALIBRE brand. Its made by caltex , comes in 10/30 and i believe (have been told) that it IS FEO. Just no-name packaging.

Point is , its $30 for 5.5 litres where honda sells FEO for about 38-45 for 5l

lol honda FEO all the way

juss did my D15b7 (gli) 300,000kms service with it on monday, been using FEO for 200,000kms now and the engine is still running as sweet as wen i got it

i get 5ltrs of FEO for around $30 at honda ... make freinds with the service manager =)

i also get discounts for buying hamp filters, fuel filters, oil + sump washer etc all in one go

yeah they give me hamp filters from japan

u can get good quality plugs and washers from the traders on here ... otherwise it didnt cost much from hondau shouldnt really use the same washer over and over but meh

i get my spark plugs n fuel filters, g-box oil, coolant ... everything really ... from honda ... its good stuff - taken cars out to pretty high km's juss from using OEM parts and keeping the car serviced regularily =)

Instead of FEO or Magnatec, give the new Shell Helix Plus 10w-40 a go. It's much better than magnatec. Remember that it is the new 10w-40. There is also the Shell Helix Plus 15w-50, which is the older one that you don't want.

yea but alot of people say feo is just some cheap oil badged as honda oil and your better of spending your 44 on other oils

well i have used alot of diff oils and my honda engines (especially B and D) have responded the best to Honda FEO ... so do what you want ... but thats my experience
