EK Hatch "JERKS" into gear [Archive]

Automatic '99 Civic Hatch, I love it :) However only thing that annoys me is when going from 1st-2nd gear it "jerks/kicks" like when you'd put it in overdrive on older cars. Anyone had this? Is it normal, or can I stop it somehow?

Theres no abnormal sound its just the feeling of it jerking into the next gear. Thanks! :D

Check the transmission fluid. Might need a flush

if changing trans fluid doesnt help, maybe the kick down cable needs an adjustment

I know the exact cause of this "jerk"

I'm sure you noticed it start to happen when you changed your tail lights to after-market items. Hence-forth, change back to the tail lights that were on the car previously and you shall see improvement.
