Anybody ever had experience with or heard of a product from Flowtech?

Just found this set of US-made 'Flowtech AirMass Pro-Racing headers' for the EG Civic D Series for sale locally.

Part number: 80524

Yeah I asked around on this US website I hang out on a bit.

I got three opinions from the Yanks.
1. A bloke used them on his Cougar and said they flowed well and he didn't realise they were available for the Hondas, so he's going to go buy a pair now.
2. Another bloke said that Flowtech is a sister-company of a brand called Holley which makes great parts.
3. Finally this other guy said that stock D16Y1 headers are so restrictive that any random Ebay header generally flows better, but will probably be subject to rust eventually etc.

So I bought mine today for $199. The company I bought it from had imported it for $350 inc. shipping so I'm happy with the price.

They're 2" and ceramic coated. Good size for my little SOHC daily driver. Seem nice on the eyes too hehe. Will install later but let me know how your's go if you do so first :)

is that located on the east side of town? in a factory? coz i think that's where they sold me mine, it's even cheaper then ebay, so it's a win either way

Yeah sorta in a factory. In Nunawading, just off Whitehorse road. I remember seeing your's up for sale. You installed yet?

yep, picked mine up a few weeks back, mine isn't on yet, trying to sort out the exhaust before installing it, along with searching for the gaskets, i still need the 2 port and the donut shaped gasket, are you going to bring it to a shop? or doing it yourself?

Well I'm in a similar boat man, gonna sort out a high-flow cat and cat-back before I stick it on. Might have to go to a shop and get them to sort it all out. Mine came with the 2-1 o-rings and bolts and of course you have to use your current gasket at the inlet.

Didn't your's come with the o-rings?

yeah mine did came with the o rings, i thought i needed the metal gaskets, i'm looking to get the Fujitsubo powergetter as well, do i need a high flow cat as well? or can iuse the standard one? oh i heard there's a place in werribee that does the exhaust job at a reasonable price

I'm just gonna go the Performance Exhausts in Ringwood, my mechanic said a dude there named Nelson really knows all his import shizzle.

And yeah not sure about your's fitting the standard cat, if it doesn't you can just use a piece of flex pipe that will connect your header on one side and cat on the other.
However there's not a lot of point having an aftermarket header unless you're gonna do the cat and cat-back, coz you'll get better flow from the engine but it'll just slow down again at the cat, and standard D16 cats are restrictive to the shite...

So yeah, get a cat and cat-back.

Here's what they look like stuck in :)

Standard headers - restrictive as hell

It was a straight fit onto the cat so I'll sort out that and cat-back later. I did it with my mate today and serviced the car also :)

what did you use? any cement or gasket, and gasket sealers? coz i really want to do mine tomorrow

Neither. Standard exhaust manifold gasket, the supplied o-rings, and the standard donut seal between the stock header/cat.

Doesn't sound like there's any leaks or anything. It's pretty much a straight swap with bigger pipes :)
