The 3rd brake light LED wires have to be cut and joined to opposite polarity in order for it to work. No idea why but glad it works.

Top post! Thanks for sharing. Awesome pictures and descriptions.

This sorta addresses the problem that Tinter was talking about regarding the top rear mount light, that according to UNLS1, Honda Australia don't care about.
The JDM rear mount is slimmer thus allowing higher visability, thus safety.. aparently JDM is not as safety strigent as AUSDM... :o

zwgbenny, I've been thinking about using the LED rear lights, but what are your thoughts one when one or more LED light dies? Does that mean you'll have to replace the whole unit or can individual LEDs be replaced?

Yea you have to change the whole unit if one of the LED dies. I don't see Honda selling the LED panels in it as a part. But yea, after changing to the LED, the rear view is very much improved.

Was looking at other forums and comparing the rear lights. From what i found out is Honda did not have a LED version for the bottom part which betjai has. Mr Bob's version is the Euro version and mine is the Japan version.

Quote from GE Club in Singapore.

Original HONDA RS tail Lamp (Euro/ Japan / thai or maybe Taiwan made) picture right. As long as it is HONDA... made..
- Top Tier, white portion, LED (Red in colour when turn on)
- 02 Tier is the signal Orange Lights & Reverse lights
- Lower tier is a EMPTY red Cluster (Japan / Thai) without bulb or connector.......
However due to the Euro Regulation to have REAR FOG LAMP......there is EURO version (Euro / Taiwan) on 01 of the Tailamp RED CLUSTER, you will find 01 bulb siting inside with a connector, HOWEVER all our local rides (JAZZ / FIT) Does not have a CONNECTOR or wiring for READ FOG LAMP. so therefore it is a UNUSED bulb.....

Fabulous guys....so which is the better of the 2 country alternatives?
And in the Singapore one, what is the difference between the 6 LED and the 12 if you know?

Can you advise on a cost and part number?

Most grateful!
Rob.

I like the LED high level brake light and am trying to find one - at reasonable cost, of course.... ;)

Tinter and I have been doing a bit of looking, I have found one but it's horribly expensive - being from a Melbourne Wrecker....

Anyway, this is my first post... hopefully will get some pics up of my '09 Jazz - in the right place of course. Meantime, any feedback on sourcing this led light would be much appreciated.

Cheers

The difference between the 6 and 12 is probably the intensity. The size of the cover is the same. Just the circuit board inside consist of more LEDs. I got it at around SGD$150. I do not have the part number with me as the sticker on the bubble wrap was peeled off.

I can ask how much is it for a mass order or something. Some fellow members are going to China for part sourcing?

I checked back with the dealer i bought from. They currently have no stock for it and needs to order from Japan and it takes around (6 - 8 weeks by sea) or ( 3 - 4 weeks by air).

If you guys are interested i can ask for cheaper price depending on amount to order.

Can you confirm that the foglight light is only on one side? (Left side)
I recently bought mine from china as well and i thought the rear foglights are on both sides

Does anyone know if the UK version rear fog light is on the right or left side only or both sides?

Mr Bob,
Comparing the dimensions to the original 3rd light, how would you sum up the size comparison with the new LED unit?

Does it take the same mounting points as the Aussie OEM light, is it the same width and how much higher does it now seat because it is not as deep?
