Hi everyone,

First of all its a pleasure to be a part of such a cool & handy website.
I'm hoping to get some ideas. I have a 2006 Euro and recently purchased a mountain bike. Just wanted to know if I should get roof racks or a tow bar set up to hold the bike.
Also wanted to know if there is a particular type or brand of bike rack that is recommended.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Towbar is easy, but the towbar costs $713 fitted retail, plus the $100 or so for the rack.

The roof rack is $478 fitted retail, and the bike attachment for it is $338 fitted retail.

You'll only need a bike rack if you need to have more than one passenger, or need boot space while carrying the bike.

Its not hard to stick a bike (or two) in the boot if you take the wheels off (being a MTB, they should be quick release). Just fold down the back seats, slide it through at an angle and you're done. I keep an old rug in the boot to keep the chain lube off the interior.

Of course, if you need the back seats or boot space, you'll have to fork out for the towbar or roof racks.

I saw a euro with one of these bike racks that just strap onto your boot instead of using tow bar or roof racks.
