i herd something sbout dome1 using castrol fork oil in there power steering?? i wuld think dat isnt a good idea... ne1 else herd of that?? or is there a alternative for power steering fluid other than genuine honda?

Why oh why when proper power steering fluid is so readily available? You don't have to use geuine Honda PS fluid if you don't want to...there's Castrol, valvoline, Shell etc...

having said that, being hydraulic fluid, they could all be the same composition afterall...

You can use motorcycle fork oil in your honda PS system, cos that's what the factory honda ps oil is. Unlike most other car manufacturer's ATF based PS fluid requirements. Using ATF based PS fluid will cause damage to the system in time.

But price of fork oil from Castrol acutally more expensive than buying from Honda hence I never bother getting fork oil from say supercheap auto or repco. If you need the right PS oil on sundays where honda dealers are closed then yeah.
