Right i have checked out online but not as much info as i wanted...

what size tyre and rim could i run on a stock chassis (arches not rolled or extended) to run a 1/4 mile?

also where can i get hold of them and for how much?

Depends on the car and powerplant and to what the car outputs and what the car needs. I think size and having your guards rolled shouldn't really be an issue as you can raise the car to give you clearance. 15inch rim with the tyres to suit. MH or MT slicks.

well they will be run on a civic ek hatch with k20a pushing around 150kw atw...plans are to take it down the 1/4 mile but i want to have minimum traction issues ideally..

23 inches tall , 15 inch rubber , 8.5inch wide

scrap the use of circuit tyres at the strip , wont be any better than the stockers you have due to the stiff sidewall

r88's are a semi slick which will eb worse to run on the drag strip. the side wall is to stiff to get a good launch which will affect your 60' time. Street tyres are a better option than semi slick, if its a street car ,my preference will be drag radials otherwise dont even wasteyour time and buy full drag slick if the car is going to be racing everyweek

the r888s got you to a 13.4 Musnt be all bad for 4.5 years old;)
Impossible to get that time on any other street tyres imo.

But then again , chuck on proper slicks / partial slicks and you will go one step better again.

Yes semi slicks are circuit tyres but they're street legal and thats what makes it more attractive to those that use their car daily

I find them alot better than street tyres! Or else i wouldnt of been able to pull a 2.0 60' footer

a tiny bit lighter:)
anyway back on topic.....

IMO stick with STREET tyres such as bridgestone RE001's for as long as you can , until you hit a barrier in 1/4 times. Then , whack on some slicks and drop that ET further.

Get BFG drag radial or Mickey Thompson drag radial.
We pulled 1.79 60ft on BFG drag radial . Circuit tyres are not designed for 1/4 mile purpose
