Hi All
I have a 1998 civic gli and I had a qn about the fuel gauge. As far as i know the tank size on this model civic is around the 44 liter mark. Yet when my gauge is lined up on empty and I do a fill up I only end up filling about 34 liters. Is it normal that the gauge will read empty when theres about 10 or so liters left?

Also what would be the expected fuel usage on this models car per 100km city driving? So far what I have noticed is that I'm getting about 310 k's per the 33 liter used.

that things just an estimate really

easier to just reset your trip meter every time and assume your car does around the 10l/100km mark
time to hit the nearest servo around the 400km mark

That's completely normal.
ek tank is 45. If it hits the 'empty' line, it should still be ok because you will get a fuel light on when your tank is seriously low (like under 7 lt).

For city driving it should be 7 - 7.5 lt/100km for manual. There is too many variable to estimate the fuel usage (tyre, loads, driving style, etc). If it goes over 8.5 lt mark.. then it's time to be worried.
