hey all,
i've just got a question i've been trying to find the answer for but can't find anything definate. i was wondering if i have two mufflers, one is 4" in diameter and one is 5", and both are straight through and round with no chambers but have the same internal diameter of 2.5". do they both perform the same in regards to flow rate? or will the 4" round outperform the 5" due to the smaller volume it has within the casing? i know the 5" will be quieter because there is more room for the exhaust gasses to disperse in the material that supresses sound, but does that also sacrifise flow rates? i apologise if this topic has been discussed before, i just couldn't find anything thats 100%. all input would be appreciated.
cheers!
