Damn, unlucky on the defects man =/
I got lucky tonight - got pulled over for an illegal u-turn (there was roadwork on the intersection I wanted to turn at). Thought I was done for then I heard the golden question..

"So what's your driving history like? Any fines?"
Left with a 'don't do it again'. *phew

how come you got done for the pod filter? was it not secure? i got defected 2 nights ago, and they saw my pod but didn't say anything - mines got a heat shield partially covering it. they checked my recaros, no problem. looked at my seat belt, no problem. i can't believe they went and did the full monty on you. tints going to be a biatch man. all the best with clearing it!

cause the pod isnt enclosed, or maybe unsecured

nsw laws are different mate (unfortunately)

melbourne- ur pod has to be enclosed shu, i think the defect u got was big enough for a major which means you need to get the car looked at by vicroads, so you will have to remove or enclosed in the end.

so dont give people the wrong information.

hey sui, i didn't realise he was from nsw. i thought he meant western highway (ballarat rd) in melbourne. my bad. i was told it's ok for pod filter in melb, as long as its secure and doesn't need to be enclosed. i didn't intentionally mean to spread incorrect information. it's funny how the road laws are different from state to state, causes confusion. should be uniformed throughout the country. i did get a major defect unfortunately - for lights and tyres, need to get it cleared by vic roads within a week. all the best clearing the defect mate.

a pod filter only needs to be enclosed if it is oil based.

If your running say an apexi it runs dry so does not really need one. If you were running a K&N or BMC then you will need it enclosed due to it being an oil based filter.
