converting road cars to race cars is expensive
always have been, always will be
I think the Civic Group R3 rally cars cost about $160k to build on top of the price of the donor car.
If you think about the cost of not just the parts, but labour, skills and craftsmanship required to build a race car (e.g. acid dipping, spot welding) then the price is very fair.
Now take a GTR and check how much it would cost to convert that to a race car (Super GT spec) that ...
if it goes as quick as (or quicker than) a GT-R35
why not XD

Well we're screwed then.
I have Gypsie tears in the old civic so I guess it'll be worth just transfering it to the next car.
RC in action, pretty dark lighting though

lol....give me a bad impression...
payin more for lesser things in the car XD

It's interesting in the youtube link that it doesnt get completely left behind by the Ferrari's, and in some cases seems to catch up a bit under braking..
Would like to see Tsuchiya driving it, or better still Gan-San, now HE would make it sing!
Still hope to find it somewhere in Hong Kong, any ideas just when it landed?
I am wondering if it was bought in for the racing at Macau in November???
So want to come back to Hong Kong for that, but seeing as I boght a new Nikon D90 today, my wife wont let me spend $1 for the rest of my holidays lol
But if I do see it, will now be able to take excellent photos of it :)

Keeping in mind, this would be more of an investment than the sykline. Mugen couldn't be building many? so it's gotta be a rare Honda!

think this is jst outside Wan Chai, near the ICAC building/Bank of China building.
as far as i can see, the difference from the 2nd photo is the tail light (the 09 model tail light)...
i think what changes...is under the bonnet and the interior

22-09-2009, 09:49 AM
that price is tseesinng ga!! (canto needed)
but its similar to buying 80k to 100k upspecced commodores, aka hsv granges, etc etc yet the base costs the same as a civic sport or something.

I will head up to the Peak at some point, the weather has been hot as here, but i keep spotting the odd EK9 Type R and a few 4-door Type R DC2 Integras, am yet to spot any Mugen FN2's anywhere, would be cool to see an RR or the RC, it's still a hell of a lot of money for a Civic, regardless of how it's equipped.
Does anyone know lap times for any Japanese tracks? that would be a better indication of how well the money would be spent.
Tseesinn is definately what they should be calling it la!
Cheers

They should call it the "Tseesinn Ciwic for yau tsin mo low yan" (ask your wife what that means haha)
Say hi to HK for me. Tell HK i miss it dearly and want to eat dan tat and bolo yau soon with dong lai cha.
i think i read it from somewhere, where it says HK has like the most multi-million dollar cars in the world??

SCORE!! I saw a Mugen RR on Tuesday night, was in Sham Shui Po, I was getting some computer nits, and when I came out of Golden Computer Arcade, saw this shiny red thing come cruising past, sadly i didnt have the Nikon, only my Sony pocket digicam, to quick for me to get a decent photo, but could see brembo's and all, looked and sounded good, will go back there armed with the Nikon :)
SiReal, I said Hi to HK, but it said something about a rash and it doesnt love u longtime anymore :)

civic and 100k in the same sentence is mega fail!
Haha,Farkin Oath!!
Don't be pullin' this Sh!t Honda! :thumbdwn:
:honda:
:D
It's a good price. The BMW mini challenge cars are around the same price. This seems to be more comprehensively set up and I'm sure it would be quicker. Track set up cars from factory aren't cheap. Nor is it cheap to strip your car and have it seam welded etc. etc.
i saw a IS-F 2wks ago in the heart of Hurstville....but it was too fast for my phone camera LOL~~~
