if its a cheap aftermarket alarm or old one, you can try rip out the main control unit for the alarm n try.

Its worth a shot.
if it doesnt work its auto electrican time

Could duck into a Mister Minit and get a new remote. Cost is around $80. I had mine done. The guy programmed the remote came out to the car and checked that it worked. I also had a key cut and programmed for the same price.

Alternatevely there should be a little switch (mines red) wired in somewhere which you will need to press.

Mister Minit is in pretty much every major shopping centre. He's the guy in the small store that does shoe repairs, engravings, cuts keys etc. I went to Forest Hill Chase shopping centre. I know there are other stores at Eastland (Ringwood), Knox and The Glen. They are open 7 days week.

If you rip out the unit, then you're really ****ed.

an immobilizer is a cut in the wires to either fuel pump, ignition or starter.

Alarm will control when the circuit will join and if its gone, then the circuit is forever broken.

Damn did they tell him why? Might need to take it to an auto electrician. This might cost a bit of cash tho. Alternatively unplug the alarm module and see if that works (This worked on my Celica awhile back)
