Hi guys,
I've just ordered these T1R from the states and my Monoflex + EDFC on its way from Japan :D can't wait.
Just wondering, with the drive shaft, i just need to unbolt those nuts and do they automatically go lose and create a space where i can insert those half spacers without having to take the whole thing off??
Or do i need to do more (take other things off) to create the gap to fill in the spacers?
I saw DIY on S2ki but that's taking the whole thing off.
Cheers
you can just unbolt those nuts and yeh you should be able to fit them on
i had the J's drive shaft spacers installed without taking the whole thing off with no problems :)

You just need too un-blot the drive shaft nuts, make enough room too fit the half spacers in.

Don't the T1R spacers spacers come with longer bolts.

That's odd! I've got the J's spacers and it wasn't as easy as, undo bolts and insert spacer. Unless J's spacers are now split.

nope they aren't split and i don't think they have a model thats split
but yea it was easy as undo bolts, insert spacer and bolt up new bolts for me anyways :)

Fair enough, i didn't think there was suffient room to remove inner joint, and install spacer. I've installed three sets of J's Spacers and have needed to disconnect lower control arm to install them. Amen for company's that have them split! One less headache.

Hey all,
I just got my T1R spacers installed yesterday! IT’S THE BEST! Smooth as now, Got my mechanic to install as they were so dam tight and the driver’s side is harder as the exhaust runs past there. They are in half so makes it heaps easier to install.
I got them for JDM YARD for about $195 including postage these guys rock!
EK4R they are designed to make the CV sit where it should, if your S2K is lowered it moves the spider further out the cup (CV talk) and can cause premature wear, the spacers move it back in to where it is ment to be.
I have been chasing a vibration problem for a while no as per thread “VIBRATION NOTED AT TRACK DAY” swapped cups around worked a little bit but the T1R spacers Rock! I highly recommended this if anyone has a vibration and or is lowered they worked for me.

I've got my S2K dropped on Eichbach springs. I'd say it's 2 inches lower than stock.
It's been like this for 1.5 years with no vibrations at all, should I get a pair anyway?
This is the first I've heard about the importance of spacers when lowering a car.

Just get some once you do start vibrating. No point in getting them now, coz all they do is shim the shaft a little further so it rubs somewhere else.

But surely these would be best fit as soon as possible after lowing so it's even wear?

Read that thread. Its long.
The general consensus is that once the vibrations start (that particular area in the cv bucket is worn), get the spacers because it will move the friction point to a place that is not worn, thus the vibrations will be gone. Otherwise don't.
If you put them on before that means you will be wearing out the new position before the old ones are worn out. In the end, it will start to vibrate with the spacers on as well and you will have to get new cv buckets. The spacers just seem to increase the life of them.
That's the understanding/impression that I got from that thread.

Hey,
I just got my T1R spacers today, just wondering when installing with the nuts and bolts, do they need to be thread-locked i.e those sort of sealant/cream u put on the bolt's thread so they don't come lose?
Or just tightened the crap out of them is enough?

^^ yeah I just tighten them with no sealant/cream or lube used, but you could use it if you want.. I see no harm.

I just installed a set of eXedium half shaft spacers tonight and man are they a good bang for buck mod! they cost me like $120 including shipping and were easy as can be to install. They have made me fall in love with my car all over again. Ive been driving with vibration for the last month or so and its taken the enjoyment out of driving the car but now Ive installed the spacers it seems to drive better than I remember it ever driving! The throttle response has increased and I guess I must have been losing alot of power from the vibration as my car feels like it has so much more power. I had almost forgotten just how quick the S2K can be. I highly recommend this mod :)

I've had the vibration for a little while. But it's weird sometimes it's worse, sometimes it's better but sometimes it's not there at all? Has anyone else had it like that?

Just make sure when using Driveshaft spacers use 10mm width bolts, not 9mm which comes with the T1R's, they will move around and come loose, speaking from experience.

MEGAN HALFSHAFT SPACERS FTW!!!
took me 20mins all up 2 install
no problems with bolts, had mine on for 6months now and not 1 has come loose.
wat ever vibrations ur getting will most likely be from ur driveshafts themselves..im on my 4th driveshaft now and its gone. i can tell from the clunk and the vibrations i get at high speeds

I bought a set of the megan driveshaft spacers because I was going to lower by car 1" with the Eibach prokit springs.
I've lowered the car and have no vibration :D So I'll be putting them up for sale soon :)

euro, how long have you had your car lowered for now? If I was you Id hold onto the spacers just incase you have any problems in the future. I didnt notice any vibration for the first month or so and then it just gradually got worse and worse from there on

It's probably been 3 weeks now I'd say, you're right, I'll hold onto them for a while and see how it goes, thanks

lol
yea
i forgot 2 add that my car has been through over 400 clutch dumps/kicks..im not kidding
i did it as a daily thing for 6 months rofl
so i guess its mostly got 2 do with drive aswell
ive calmed down since ive raised it and slammed 245s on the rear so its alrite i guess
the worst thing now is the fact that im beginning to try sliding again bcuz the 245s are so much more fun wen it kicks out haha
Change your username when you selling the car..

Then you shouldn't be complaining that you broke this/that or blaming it on lowering the car.
There's a diffrence between aggressive driving and abusing the car.
