Hi all, I have booked my 2004 VTIS Jazz in for a 140k service. Prices vary greatly between Honda dealers. Cheapest was a local non-Honda dealer at $180 to the dearest at a Honda Dealer at $320. I have booked in with my normal Honda Dealer at $220 as they give good service and stick to their word.

My question is.... why is there a $100 difference between Honda dealers for the same work???

Dealer services are always more exy. They often do more then oil and filter which other 1man show service outlet does every service, minor or major. Honda also has a heap more overheads than ya smaller service yards and they have a bigger reputation to up keep. They also have the computer and diags to plug straight into the ECU which other yards often don't which saves time.

140k's for an '04 eh....tis a fair bit of driving. Hows the car going with that mileage, does it still feel tight?

I plan on keeping my Jazz long term, curious to know :)

still feels tight as. Nothing has gone wrong except the usual rear wheel bearings which were replaced under warranty. There is a slight noise in the electric power steering when you turn the wheel whilst stationary. The motor is still as new. I got 92,000 kms out of the original factory tyres. I have had fords and toyotas previously and they have felt very used at this mileage. I am hoping to get 300,000 kms out of this Jazz. It should be close to 10 to 11 years old then.

cool ! about the difference between dealer service price was( i ask them once that's what they told me) they may used different addictive(i.e. injector cleaner ) windscreen washer add-in ....... so they all add to the cost(you pay) which many of them is non standard stuff (not require by the log book) they may even ask u to do carbon clean, extra auto box flush (not just oil change n not due to the log book again). that's all add up. once again (i heard) the service section HV COMMISSION on all these.......
