no such thing as optimal, optimal in what aspect?

With full car load?
By yourself?
On a wet day?
on a hot day?
Fuel consumption?
Grip?

Too many variables, best way is to play aorund with tire pressures and see what u feel is best suited for your driivng style.

Wow @ 36!

I'm at 32 on the front and 30 on the back, other then that it's wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too hard.

I was at 40 cause I just had the tyres swapped over and that's what he put them too and that was too hard. But it's good at 36 on the front where the weight is and 34 at the rear where a bit more grip is needed.

My car is a sedan,so a bit more weight than the hatchie too.

how do you guys find the wear on your tyres? on my old tires i had some wear on the outsides, which means it was over inflated? i think ill try 32 on the front and 30 on the back aye? mhm

Other way around. If you say they are wearing on the outsides 'evenly' then thats under-inflation.

As said, theres no 'optimal' pressure as such. I use 36-34 and in the past 34-32 and all has been fine.

I have been told a couple of times by trained drivers that any lower than 34-36 on any car isnt recommended as under heavy braking traction isnt as good.

And having them up a bit higher allows for them to go down a bit without getting too low. if you only have 30psi and ur pressures drop a little while driving, you run the risk of it getting too low and if u get into a dangerous situation where u need to stop the car in a hurry then the tyres may not hold on the rim and it is possible to trip up the car and roll it.

anyway...i run 42 on the front and 40 at the back and its fine.

Um... what about a CRV? It's running 205 70 R15 tyres on 15x6. This is the stock wheel and tyre combo for the CRV..

on the inside of the drivers door there should be a sticker with the recommended pressures and standard tyre sizes etc. Check there.

But somewhere around 38-40 would be good i reckon...if its a bit firm maybe a touch less but ur suspension would be pretty soft with a fair bit of travel so it should be alrite.

36 PSI is the best.
34-36
But 36 is recommended

there are too many variables..

but long story short, use the recommended pressure on your tyre.
if you have the correct size tyre for your car's make/model, then you may follow the ratings on the sticker inside your door sill
