Hey guys got my new alternator 6months ago then just last week it started playing up car wouldnt start etc..so gave it back to mechanics(under warranty) they fixed it up again and said that oil leaking on it caused it to fail.

so ok i know i have an oil leak and new engine is going soon as i have enough funds for a conversion...but for now..i ve seen falcons, corollas with oil :thumbsup:dripping on the alternators for years and no problem at all

so is honda alternators just craply made? or are the mechanics dodgy f****?

Never heard of that, I've pressure hosed my entire engine bay before besides the dizzy and fuse/battery, everything was fine.. Done it many times actually, and always fine.. I don't see why oil would make it a problem.

Best to ask ECU-MAN
