Hi All,

I've been a member for a few years but still consider myself a noob...

I am starting to mod my DC5 Type-S, live in Vic and want suspension advice. I'm a bit adverse to those big yellow stickers so want to play by the rules.

I use it as a daily drive (27K now...) cruising and the occasional track day.

After reading the mod guide (http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyres/CC48FC10-4D57-4F04-82E1-3BD72EF88340/0/VSI8.pdf) I'm not sure how far I can lower it and still be legal. I've spoken to a few different places and have got a few different answers.

Cheers

PS I plan to keep the stock wheel & tyre sizes in lieu of a kidney belt...

100mm off the ground is legal but i'd go 101mm.. cops are ****s..
THATS FROM THE LOWEST POINT OF UR CAR

Eg u got a 4 inch cannon.. 100mm from the ground off that... Yeah it'd be gay but happens..
Other mods, wait for other replies as they'd know more as im still learnin for my DC5R

NSW has a "You cant lower your car by more than 2 inches (and still need cert from RTA)" rule too now doesnt it?

Not sure if thats the case in VIC...

Nah man...
Cheap mod on a DC5S not worth it.. U'd lose power >.>
Panel Air Intake or get a Mugen Air Intake mate.
Mugen = Recommended
Some good traders have second hand ones in good nick for $750 and brand new for $900
Its money WELL spent

Has it been proven that a pod filter loses power for a k20 engine? Didn't know that..

If you're just sticking a pod in the original airbox then you'll lose power in any car as the system is designed to run the way it was made.
If you swap the entire intake arm for a complete aftermarket unit such as an injen cai, gruppe-M or Mugen intake then you'll see gains.

Agreed wif what you wrote.
If your going do gains do it once, do it right..
U'll notice a big difference between Mugen Airintake and aftermarket pod setup thats if u go from pod to mugen..
Save money n juz do mugen ;)
