I was hit from behind on the weekend. This has been my second not at fault accident this year.

As a result of the accident my rear bumper has become misalligned. Also my left exhaust pipe has be pushed in (towards the front of the car) by about 5-10cms. I was just wondering whether this could result in any other damage along the remainder of the exhaust system or any other damage on the underside of the car?

Should be fine.. Your chassis and underside will take a lot more stress than the exhaust..

I've taken it into to be checked over before repairs. Just want to make sure that nothing is missed. I forgot to mention earlier the boot opens and closes fine. The boot was not affected.

Your boot function would suffer before any underside damage has occured. Should be an easy fix.

Thanks that's good to know. I hope it's a quick fix. I didn't enjoy the Nissan Tida that much last time they had to fix my car.

Nissan Tiida... *shudders*

Sounds like damage is pretty minor. New rear bumper cover and new exhaust section and tip, and you should be fine.

Did you get hit by a lambo or something?
Exhaust pushed in 5-10cm but boot is fine haha.

On the serious note, don't you have insurance?
And you should post some pics so we can see how bad it is.

I got hit by a toyota camry but most of the impact was on the left hand side of my rear bumper.

I have insurance with AAMI, and just as well. $8500 for my first repair and $2500 for the current repair. Insurance is a must, no matter how good a driver you are. There is no way you can always anticipate other drivers' mistakes.

Ouch that would hurt!!! What was the extent of the damage to incur a $15000 repair? Or did you mean $1500?

even if your gf have full comp insurance, that guy without insurance is still screwed for not having insurance.

But at least your insurance company will pay for the repairs then chase up the other party for the $$. You'll have to do the hard work if you only have 3rd party, or even worse, no insurance.

Got my car back but i think the exhaust pipes aren't perfectly alligned. The exhaust on the rear LHS (the side that was hit) seems to be pushed in fowards (towards the front) a few millimeters more than the RHS.

I am going to my Honda dealer on Monday so they can check everything else and make sure there are no other issues.

Finally got the pics. I am most unhappy about the last one. Got my car back and was cleaning some insects from the front bumper and realised a lot of tiny white dots on the passenger side lower front bumper. Looks like the body shop got some one elses paint onto my car. I also think they have not perfectly alligned both exhaust pipes. It will go back until it's done right.
