jdm b18c block will just read b18c, that is out of the sir-g which is the jdm version of the vti-r here in australia, b18cR is from the jdm type r, hope that helps you mate

jdm engines all read B18C. this applies to both the gsr and type r motor. the type r motor does not read B18CR like mentioned above.

JDM = B18c (engine number) SiR/SiR II integras
USDM B18c (engine number) GSR
AUDM = B18c1/b18c2 (engine number) Vti-R
jdm spec slightly produce more power than their international counterparts

if its b18c1 its usdm vtir motor.
Check your engine block. I think you are confusing your vin number.

that is the ENGINE number.
on the jdm b18c motors, It stamps "B18C", under it, it has a bunch of numbers, so that picture above is a JDM B18C

If your motor is stamped b18c1 (it means yours is imported vtir motor)

Our b18C vtir motor is B18C2
Our type R b18c is stamped B18C7

the head will have a different code. im pretty sure that vtir spec says P72 or P73 and that the type says PR3.

correct me if im wrong as im not 100%
