was reading through an article and i don't have this part

http://is.rely.net/1-92-88598-l-LqAui19u6B4ooZbE2EYsA.jpg

i have the ring height adjusting perch thing, but then i don't have that part? apparently this is meant to go ontop of that, which then hold the big spring base thing.

does the 5th gen prelude need this part? :S

if so im ****ed, where can you get it LOL :(

Fulcrum is the main dealer for Koni as there arent many around, not sure if they need that circlip or not, would assume they would, best off giving Fulcrum an email message, shouldn't take long for a reply at all

i too have purchased and installed many sets of konis on various applications/cars - some had this ring some didnt. The spring perch , as long as captive (spring wont move when static) will support teh spring fine. Dont worry.

Michael,

The part number you quote (front) is normally supplied for the earlier Prelude’s but will fit you car providing the spring seat is at the correct height.

As long as there is a small recess on the under side of the spring seat, to fit over the square section circlip, you will not need the ring (as pictured).

Keep in mind we do not offer warranty on private import part numbers such as you have.

Barry

To Barry,

8041.1154SP3 - NEUSPEED/Koni Shock Front
8041.1155SP3 - NEUSPEED/Koni Shock Rear

I purchased them privately, but i just wanted to know if i needed that part or not, as i purchased them brand new through Rennenhaus. As a few people have told me i do not need that part as the adjusting perch holds strong against the shock. If you may be able to tell me if i need this part or not?

Cheers

Michael

what if I like going over jumps with my honda?

as long as the spring is held static....it will take anything you can give it.

BUT if you have too low springs which are loose when the shock is un-loaded , there is every chance it can pop out.

my konis and my mates konis didnt have that ring. so long as ur perch sits on top of the circlip properly, u probably dont need it. IMO.

the only time we needed it was when we installed skunk2 coilover sleeves and we ordered them separately from skunk2.

Sweet cheers everyone!

So, the silver bigger ring thing, where the springs sits, is that mean't to rotate around? like i haven't installed the springs in it yet, but yeah just wondering. doesn't look very firm.
