Im juggling between the 09 euro and 09 euro luxury, and obviously the lux is the more appealing choice features wiese etc, however, the only thing setting me back atm is the auto rain sensor standard on the lux...how does this system work? can it be disabled?....... i want to be the one to decide when my wipers should be turned on, not the car

oh yea of course it can be disabled. Its just a tap away.. i find it useful though with it wiping the screen when theres rain. Only its irritating when your screen is perfectly clean and one drop of water touches the sensor and 'wipe, wipe' and the screen is dirty...

that would be irritating, thats why i dont want it.. when u say its just a tap away, do u mean theres a button or do u just pull a fuse out?

There should be Off, Auto, I and II settings on the wiper stalk.

Yes, you can use setting I and II if you dont want automatic wiper.

I and II settings have the flexibility of changing the speed too; wherelse Auto have additional setting to detect a few "raindrop" or many "raindrop".

So, don't worry about that.

Yeah mate you can turn it off but it's one of the best features of the lux model - I love it!
