Hi all,
I noticed in Honda website there is a drive away special RRP for Accord Euro Auto for 37990, includes metallic paint.Normal price 41800
http://offers.honda.com.au/offers_detail.aspx?view=14&model=5
Can the dealer can go lower than this price for bargain? this above honda site states its for current model stock/stock while last and deliver between 1/10 till 30/11/09.
Do you guys thing the price may go down in December,Feb time.
I am looking to purchase euro auto base model.
ANy suggestions are more than welcome.

when i went shopping a car last year... I got quoted the euro auto driveaway for roughly 35k.. without any negotiation..
you'd likely be able to get it cheaper than the 37990 if you bargain and shop around..
i eventually went with just the 08 Honda Accord.
On the special offer, they have the accord for 34990 driveaway. When i bought my accord, it was 31k driveaway.. this included rear parking sensors and metallic paint, mats, tints, 5 years warranty..
prices are always negotiable with dealers, so i wouldn't read into those special offers and RRP too much

Maybe they are trying to get rid of certain stock?

My take it that they might not budge on price.......but instead might throw in some extras......so try and haggle with them for extra items (as opposed to a lower price!)

Next year, there is a 5% import tariff reduction on the price of all new imported cars, im pretty sure its going to happen. There has being no mention of it anywhere in the media, but its the law. Does anyone else know about the 5% drop ? Is it happening or what ?

Well if that's the case also factor in a rising Australian dollar and there should be some very attractive prices in the new year.

I wrote about this in a old post, So the last import tariff reduction happen in 1st Jan 2005, tha accord euro went down in price. Which was in line and now Jan 2010 is another drop. I guess all dealer are keeping HUSH so they can sell to those who are not in the know.

That seems like a really good price. Go ahead and bargain and you might be able to save a little bit more (maybe within 1k). My friend used to be a salesman for honda and he said there usually is a good 3k margin off the retail price e.g. 40K car, lowest selling price should be 37. But then again it depends on the model of the car due to demand etc. If it is a popular car, they usually wont discount it much because they can sell it for a higher price to someone else.
I bought my 08 euro standard just before the 09 was released so i picked mine up for 32k driveaway with floor mats, parking sensors, full tank fuel, premium black/white number plates and paint protection.

Just saw the TV ads for Mazda, they have reduced most new car prices for NOW, so the car import tariff is happening NOW and they have started the ball rolling some 3 months ahead of everyone else.
So it wont be long until Honda Aust will follow......Accord Euro will be even cheaper then now.....

Sorry to ruin the party but have read of this (http://www.smh.com.au/drive/motor-news/tarriff-cut-bonus-for-newcar-buyers-20091120-iqjy.html).
Or the summary is here:
Honda won’t even admit they’re looking at it. “We’re not making any comment on our pricing strategy,” says its general manager of sales and marketing, Stephen Collins.

Thats officially.Don't worry when the tariff reduction comes into effect they'll be looking closely at their pricing (and competitors)and either adjusting it downwards or by adding extra features to the car at no cost.

Hmmm. Let's see; assuming $930 delivered price drop due to 5% duty drop on a Mazda 3 Neo Manual means that the cost of the car to a dealer is $930/5 x 100 = $18,600.
Interestingly, the recommended delivered price for this car is $24,385 in the Northern Territory. Subtract $699 stamp duty and $64 registration and $426 CTP = $23,196.
Dealer margin (not profit!!!) = $23,196 - $18,600 = $4,596 or 24.7% mark-up on cost price. Pretty normal on most cars of this size and bigger.
Work it out for a Euro.

i bought the new 09' model last year oct for 34400 drive away, auto, full tank, matts, extended warranty, slim plates, metallic paint, i had to haggle a lot and find a good salesman over the different dealerships, from inside the dealership i was told i hit rock bottom, then when i went home they called me and it continued over the phone to reach that final price.
Hope this can give u a good comparison for a bargain.
My friend paid $33000 driveaway on january but i don't think we can pay that price anymore.

As per HOnda website they reduce the RRp price
Now for Auto the RRP is for base model auto 35790, was 37290 something. Seems like 1500 reduce
What was the price last year this time before Honda increase the price in April
Not sure how much can bargain. May be free accessories in January/February.

That sounds about right... I was quoted 34,690 for a Standard in Manual without any extras.
After 15 mins of negotiation, I got it down to 33,500 drive-away, including:
- Reverse Parking Sensor
- Window Tints
- Carpet Mats
- Slim plates (black & white)
- Tank of petrol + another tank if we fill up the survey form and return with positive feedback!
You reckon it's a good deal?
Moving up from a Honda Civic VTI-L by the way... I originally thought of getting the Civic Sport but the price is too close with the base Euro.. so i opted for the Euro instead.

that website deal is a ripoff, u can go way cheaper than that. to be totally honest tho, i hate how the euro is being pimped out so cheap now. my luxi model keeps getting compared to the standard models that alot of ppl seem to be driving. if everyone can afford a euro, i guess it can mean a good thing, but for me it doesnt seem special or unique anymore. its slowly becoming the next camry which is probably worth the same price now

nah, i live in an area full of european cars, i visit my gf's area alot which is full of toyotas and hondas (but 90% civics and crvs, barely any euros, and esp not cu2) and the area i work, people ONLY seem to drive falcodores, i saw 4 IDENTICAL blue xr4's or something with a turbo hood, turn at a light. cudve been friends or something but srsly, stuff like that happens way too often.
my point in all this is that wherever i go, used to have very little euros, but now im slowly to start seeing them alot more and increasing at an alarming rate. its not "that" affordable

Don't know how much this worth but...
I got an 09 standard auto Euro, build date August 08 for just under $43000 drive away.
It came with:
Standard auto in Volcano Grey, Fog lights, Blue tooth, floor mats, accent lighting, Aero rear bumper, duck tail boot lip, front under skirt,
side skirts, tinting, sound deadening underneath, paint and interior protection pack.
The car was advertised as 35990 with no extras, but that wasn't drive away. Had dealer delivery, stamp duty to pay.
Never had pinging, I might be lucky there, but I reckon I'm just one of the majority of happy buyers.
If you want luxury with some performance for under $50,000 then get an Accord Euro CU2.
I bought mine in Feburary 09

I've been driving an Aurion for the past two weeks. It's a rocket without stabilsers! The seats are woeful as they don't grip the bum in the driver's seat. And the interior, in this 3 year old example, is a pile of crap. I've never seen such a poorly made, short-lasting interior in any car, apart from the current Camry.

Built date is when the car rolls off the assembly line in Japan. The built date plate is then affixed to the car.On the CL9 this plate is in the engine bay on the passengers side near the shock tower.Next to that is the compliance plate. This is affixed (i think)not long after the car arrives in Australia.Built date is always earlier than compliance date so in your example if the built date is Jan.2010 then compliance date should be March 2010.

On the CU2, build date is on the plate visable from the outside, look on the bottom left of the windscreen. ;)

The compliance plate isn't always fixed not long after a car arrives in OZ: It depends on when the importer gets the car out of Customs Bond. Some importers (Citroen) used to sometimes leave a car in bond for up to two years (!).

William,
Great news! After speaking just now with Honda Australia, I can happily confirm that all Honda Accord Euros (Auto and manual) with the last 6 digits of their VIN/Chassis numbers falling after 202164, have had the relevant reprogramming already done at the factory in Japan at the time of construction.
FYI – I also now have the vehicle identifiers for your car, they are as follows –
Build and compliance will of course be 09 and 09, but car is 2010 series. In case you were unaware, this means that it has a black parcel shelf behind the rear seats, not grey like the 2009 series, and also you will be able to lower ALL the windows AND open the sunroof using the remote, and also close them up again in the same way. This was not an available feature on the 2009 series.
VIN/Chassis Number is – JHMCxxxxC203442
Engine Number – K24Z3-xxxx3014
We will not know the exact months for the build and compliance plates until the car is on site. I will advise you again when I have them.
I hope this has been helpful for you.
Kind regards
Sales Consultant"

We will not know the exact months for the build and compliance plates until the car is on site. I will advise you again when I have them.
I hope this has been helpful for you.

They won't give you 2010 build car for 36990 drive away. I think you can get 2009 build car for below 35K. Possibly lower if you wait after 1 Feb

Shop that price to at least 2 other dealers and you'll soon find out how good a deal it is.

WHen is the built date. Just curious, how much does it worth if you pay for these accessories as extra...
Which dealer this price is from. Check with few other dealers and see others can do below this price.
I am also trying to close my purchase of base model EUro looking for good price...
I am looking for base model Auto silver mettalic 09 built My10 paint without any accessories(may be 5yr warranty) for 32 or 33k drive away...
ANyone got any idea what price dealers going to bargain for 2010 model base model auto

Hi,
It built on Mid Jan 10 and currently on the shipment frm Japan and will arrive here around mid feb. All accessories quoted roughly around 3k.
That's the best price i quoted after visiting 4 dealership and also including 6 years warranty.
I recommend you try the Yarra honda and get the price that you wish.

As per Honda website, the Euro base model auto drive away is still 36990 on February sale as per the honda website http://offers.honda.com.au/offers_detail.aspx?view=14&model=5
and the offer is till 31st March 10.. Seems like this would be the special price for 2010 built models as well..

Hi all,
I am going to couple of HOnda dealers this weekend if price is ok i will get it. Just wondering anyone here in Sydney got a 09 built My10 euro base model auto or 2010 built euro auto for a good price?
Not sure waiting till end of this month would help to reduce more price.
Thanks

Anyone got latest cheap drive away price for Euro base model auto.
I got over the phone from one sydney dealer 36500 with genuine rear sensor and 5yr warranty for 2010 built euro buron silver auto metallic and he said he can do better if i go there and sign the contract on the spot. Another dealer i been there, he said 37990, but if i get a best price he can beat. I told him i got best so far is 36500 with the above accessories, can he do 36k or below. He talked with this manager and said 37k drive away he also said as a staff he can't even purchase it for 36k drive away for the normap rrp 41800 drive away price car.
Not sure Honda dealers not willing to reduce the price other than the advertise special price.
ANyone got any better price than this please advise me and seems like if i don't purchase before March 31, i may have to pay the full price after that.
Thanks
Raja
