Hey guys

So basically just doing my service on my car and when i was tightening the bolt that holds the rocker cover down (theres also another bolt that holds the spark plug cover down right above it)

I snapped the threaded rod in half and so i cant tighten one part of my rocker cover down and one part of the spark plug cover down.

So basically just asking can this part can be replaced without replacing anything else and also is there much urgency replacing this??

Cheers in advance guys!!

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu- Yuan.

You need a tap and die thread kit (I think its called)

You can get them from Bunnings, will remove that snapped bolt and you'll just need to replace it

i've done the same thing, pretty much like 9OLAN said, 12-15 from honda, you can order them in. from memory, the one you broke screws into the head, has a shaft, then a thread that goes through the rocker and gasket, nut, spark cover, top nut. so you shouldn't need an easy out for this one.
just take the whole rocker cover off and you'll need a 12mm spanner for the snapped bolt, make sure its a long one you'll need the torque.
its not totally urgent to replace but i would try to get it fixed as soon as possible.

In short, yes you can replace it without replacing anything else. unless you are fussy about the rocker gasket, some people change it everytime the cover comes off.

just make sure next time you tighten and loosen them when the engine is cold. you only need to tighten them a little maybe quarter turn, i just use two fingers at the base of the spanner and go as far as i can.
