I purchased mine in Sydney brand new for $28,500. I got the first batch that was imported to aus and i suggest you get the VI hatch instaed of the GLI sedan.
You can probs pick up a VI hatch for around $22,000 with about 15/20 thousand k's
or even brand new now for about 3/4 g more

just has been asking about Civic while I bought the Jazz
the GLi sedan is about $26000 (25grand maybe if u know how to talk to the sales) on road with AUTO
for Civic Vi hatch it may probably about $29~30 grands ....as the RRP on road is about $31 grands
but notice, Civic GLi sedan is made in Thailand and driven by a 1.7L non-vtec engine
the Vi is made in Jap and has VTEC engine

Honda's are better :)

I've got a GLi Sedan (MY03), had it for just over a year & no problems whatsoever with it.

I paid just over $29,000 for mine but I got the the full factory bodykit, gold badging, window tint & paint protection (which is bullshit might I add).

I got it from john Blair Honda in Prahran and they were pretty good. However, Courtney & Patterson whom I went to first, were quite rude.

Just out of curiousity how come your going for Auto in a small car?
I have a manual and as it is it lacks power...could only imagine how much worse the auto would be.

purchasing for a female driver ;)
hence need auto.

I try the GLi auto and there is not much power with the a/c :(

how are the resell values like for between the both anyway?

my friend got a quote for 25000 brand. new auto sedan, I'm sure you can get some extras at that price too. I say get the sedan, the one with the Vi engine, the hatch, isn't much faster the vtec is only sohc, if you MUST get a hatch get the Jazz or Mazda3, they are both more with it.. I read somewhere that ppl who want civic hatches will more likely look at the jazz so I would not put that much depreciation value on the VI(I think the corolla hatch is way better value btw, 21k drive away stock with mp3 player and 100kws)

Female drivers need autos now???

I'm a female driver and am quite capable of driving a manual :)

RE: the power loss with a/c on - it happens in the manual too, you prob just can't feel it as much.

Not sure about resale values, but I've seen 7th Gen MY01 sedans for around 18-19k.

most female drivers prefer to drive(or only can drive) an auto...its a demographic fact :)

the sedans just had 2K off the price so they are around 20K now?
but when you load it up with aircon (who doesn't get aircon these days?) and auto, looking at another 4K (2K each), so your price of 25K sounds right with ORC :D

as for the corolla, well. the less said the better :D
the 100 kW figure might sound impressive but it's all in the high rev range and not very useable

power loss from the aircon? well get used to it, esp. in an auto
or drive a V8............
