The closest cousin to the first generation Integra is the third gen Civic (1984-87).
Unfortunately, with better brakes and suspension than the Civic, the Integra was really the top of the Civic chain so any swap with the Civic is really a downgrade
The D16 engine is the Integra SX16 was also found in the earlier, non-VTEC CR-X.
The first gen Integra was really hard to find mods for even in its day. I owned one more than 10 years ago, and even back then it was pretty much considered a very difficult car to source aftermarket parts for. The usual suspects like Mugen Power made stuff for it, but they were hard to import here in the earlier days and of course by now those bits are long extinct.
I remember the car well though, gutless below 3500rpm, then once above that everything came alive. The auto was, errm, hard to drive and peaky because of it. I exchanged the car for a manual one within six months.
I think the scarcity of quality aftermarket parts for the car is a reason why there are almost no well-modded ones around. They remain either stock or modded with cheap generic hacked together bits and bobs.

so if the motor was also in the cr-x, does that mean the same gearbox was used also ? or did they change the shafts or other things?

with all that said ,, would you know if the tranny from 1 of the others would fit?
(i need to know now, the tranny spat the dummy the other day leaving bits of case & fluid up the road)
