A metal fab shop should be able to do this no issues and shouldn't take them too long to do it.

Why you want/need to change the thread (and on what) if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah Bau, take it to a place, wave 20 bucks at them and they'll be able to do it depending on current thread pattern.

Firstly, what size and pitch do you want to go to?

Agree that tap and die set can work but it will also depend on the difference between the Honda thread and the thread that your gearknob has. Make sure you line the area around the shifter with lots of rags to catch the metal shavings. Also add some light machine oil to the thread so that it cuts smoothly without generating too much heat.

well with a tap and die set if you cant find one that suits the gearknob and you can find one that suits the shifter you can rethread the gearknob or just rethread both to suit each other which is what i did :D

I have no idea what size and pitch means.

assuming its referring to the thread size, then from a visual inspection, the teeth maybe smaller and the thread is packed closer together (more teeth per cm)

do what lukey said, just get a extender made with a conversion its gonna look better too, high shifter, like fast line

Bring the knob to bunnings or autobarn and try it out on their nuts and bolts display unit. It has some size testers.

Honda thread is M10 x 1.5.

thread on the knob is smaller

well you will need the end of the shifter turned down to a fresh surface before you can cut a new thread into it

i work in a workshop where we cut threads all day long and even thoe with a lathe it's a quick and easy job to turn it and cut a new thread

most shops will still charge you atleast 20-30 dollars minimum to do it

another option would be to mod the thread in the knob as this is moar doable as a diy

but you would still need to match thread and buy a tap and drill bit
