After driving my DC2 for a while, i'm kind of getting sick of the exhaust being so loud. I know loud exhaust, big mufflers use to be in but i'm kind of getting sick of it. And the headers currently installed are custom crapply bent. Any recommendations for a quite H/E combination that will give good low-mid range gains on a DC2 ? Currenty has a HKS Hiper + high flow cat. I'd like to cane it every now and then without people hearing my car 10km before they see it.

How much have you got to spend?

My recommendation is Toda Header + Fujitsubo RM01A. Ask any one who's seen my car, it's not unobnoxiously loud at all.

Cost isn't an issue atm. What did that setup cost you ? I'm thinking that cost you around the 3-4k mark.

Around 2.5K

The new buddy club spec 4 is quiet as. They've used a very unique design and the dyno sheets I've seen on HT.com have some good gains from it. Or Mugen Twin Loop.

If you want high performance, yet still refined, I would look towards Mugen, especially if you are looking for a H/E combination :)

The BC spec IV is also a very good exhaust and is not very loud :)

I have a hks hiper (+headers and hi-flow), I think its pretty quiet-albeit above 6k, but what do you expect?

I have a HKS extractors and stock zorst combo. But soon to be HKS Twin loop. As for you, cant go wrong with TODA 4-2-1 + Twin Loop combo. With the twin loop you get power and no sound what so ever.

Sorry Didn't mean it that way. I meant I have HKS 4-1 Extractors and I'm going to team it up with a twin loop.

i dunno guys are you sure the twin loop doesn't loose any power? i've seen the bends in that thing...... I always though to make good power you need the exhaust to be as straight as possible with minimal bends....???

Besides in a STREET & RACE engine you need some form of back pressure at certain RPM points to help the engine make more torque I have used the twin loop exhausts on a few Honda's and the power output is very good and they noise level is very quiet so if you have the money to upgrade to a Toda Header and a Twin loop exhaust you will be very happy with this setup.I have not used a Buddyclub spec 4 yet so I cannot comment but they are always at the front of the performance market.

could i bolt on a toda header with a stock cat/cat back exhaust and still make a good power gain?

you can also try 'hondar' on these forums.
he selling VisionR exhaust.
he also says that it's very quiet.

Does anyone have some dyno graph or an idea on what gain you could expect from a toda header with the twin loop system? With both b16a and b18c
