View Full Version : Civic Type R advice required on prices 08/09

Recently sold my peugeot 206 gti and have been keenly researching the pros and cons of a Type R against a Peugeot 207 gti. While the 207 is 20kw less powerful than the Type R I was very happy with my pug but have always had a longing for a honda mainly for their quality and reliability. I live in Adelaide but am prepared to go interstate for a very low km (<25,000)km 09 or 08 car.

Redbook cites even an 09 as only worth around 36 grand but i note on car sales.com those few 09 yet for sale have prices 38-40 grand. Wld appreciate any thoughts on what i shld pay for an 08 or 09 car

I went from a 206 GTi180 to an 08 Civic Type R and while the performance benefit is pretty negligible, the overall quality of the Type R is leaps and bounds above the Pug.

ive seen an 09 type r on carsales in sydney. Only done 3,000km. guy wants 38 grand . thinkingof checking him out at 36,500. Any thoughts??

Is the CW limited edition? I thought that they've added the colour permanently?

it comes with the LSD that isnt present in the FN2. this makes a big difference, there are other changes too but for me, that would be the main one.

Mmm, doesn't all 09 onwards FN2 gets LSD as a standard feature?

All 09 onwards fn2rs come with LSD as standard, I confirmed this with three different dealers.

Yes, 09 FN2 TYPE R come with LSD, rear parking sensors,tyre inflation warning as standard features.

stock is very limited not many new car stock left in the country.

So basically customers paid extra money for decals and white wheel for the LE? Grats to the Honda Aus marketing team. :D

White Wheels - Yeah they paid extra because.. well.. they ARE extra.. as in not supplied by Honda Australia!

I think you are getting the UK specs and AU specs confused!

The Australian Championship White version is NOT LIMITED and NOT SPECIAL in any way. Those who believe it is, however, may be.

They wont bring out fdr2 I would trade up right away but it would kill fn2 sales. Lsd is the main thing but like me you could just find one for your needs. CW is classic type R but i like me black...mmmm dark side i guess =)

ahah honda australia doesnt want to get owned at the fact they brought the wrong car into the country
