With the great exchange rate I was thinking of getting this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190280407470&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT

But the part comes unpainted - they have a paint service, but at USD$60 are there places local (Sydney) that would do something like that?

unless you know your car's paint code, i'd say have it painted here because they can color match it..

^^^ Absolutely. Your options are:

1. Take your paint code (on door jamb) to an auto paint supplier and get them to mix you up 500 ml, then paint it yourself (with suitable undercoat).
2. Take your car to the same auto paint supplier, and they will match the paint exactly, then do it yourself.
3. Take your car to a spray shop and have them do everything.

1 is cheapest; 3 is most expensive.

Thanks for the tips so far!

I assume this is what I'm looking for.

My last experience with paint is probably finger painting in primary school, so I might avoid the DIY routes. What range might I be looking at for option 3 (less than USD$60 I'm hoping)

How about the clear coat? Is that something that would have to be done separately as well?

it shouldnt be more than $100 AU. any smash repair can paint it as long as you give them the paint code. just ring around for prices.

^^^ That sounds reasonable as they have to mix a small amount, paint, clear and dry. Your car would probably have to be there all day (drop off in morning and pick up in afternoon).
