hey guys im about to buy a 88 prelude with a b20 vtec motor in it and the CEL light is on the guy said it came on after he put the bigger alternator on it? anyone know what else could cause it

could be 1 out of 40 possible things

check the ecu for codes.

Incase you dont know how to...
You pull back the carpet flap in the passenger footwell and count the LED flashes on the little mirror. There are only about 17 codes so count how mnay flashes = code

I wonder what ECU he is runnung with the B20 Vtec Convertion. probably OBDI

is this the white prelude with scissor doors? black ek wheels etc? did you find what the problem was?

yea thats the car, na the guy said it came on after he changed the alternator

Yes your best bet is to check the ECU and see what is going on

This shows all possible problems that the ECU can show
