just recently got multiple small slashes in my passenger seat recaros

my friend was sitting in the chair with these rediculous pants lines with zippers all over it and tore the material as he got out of the car

anyways, i need to get the main cushion (the middle of the seat, not the suede part) retrimmed. any1 know where i can get matching material and a rough extimate of the costs? its only a small portion, and his payin half for it at least....

roman auto tek dont supply the red material as it is from honda. called up honda they want $682.55 for the bottom cushion. they do not sell seperate material :thumbdwn:

so what i was thinkin of doin, is going to cabramatta and look for the damn material!!!! :(

how bad is the rip?

if it's just a little bit of fabric i don't think there's a point... it's just wear and tear, and it might happen again, like mine! my Recaro's got little nicks n stuff too, it hurts wen it happens, but u get over it ;) my bro used to have dc2r recaros, used to drive workmates home who left pens in their back pant pocket... they ripped so many holes n tears in the seat! it was a painful site!

ouch... i reckon it's always good to double check your passengers. LOL be sure it's only female passengers(but don't tell them why), not a strip search but the typical copper touch down the side. hahaha

go on! lol

i'm just waitin for the day i get my Velo.... lol anyways, is Velo any good?

they dont retrim it in the stock material... and yeh, the tears are getting bigger

i am now thinking about getting a suede panel with recaro emborided over it to cover the it, but then it may dominate the look of the seat... stupid friends argh!

i know how you feel, some people are just stubbon, or dont really care for your property. but you can buy seats, cant buy friends, and friendship usually last alot longer :) why not just get genuine recaro red fabric? if i were you, i wouldnt get suede, i would just get the normal fabric as its less maintenance and the fabric makes no stretch marks like suede does.

the normal fabric used in a type r is from honda, not recaro. honda do not sell the fabric seperate, but you can buy the cushion with the red cloth. it costs 680 from honda

see the delimma?! :!:

yeah i know you cant just buy the fabric, but what i meant is to go see the recaro specialist, distributor, and get the genuine recaro fabric. im sure they have similar fabrics? the original fabric is recaro fabric, but its sold directly to honda as the part of the deal. so if you want the original fabric, you have to get it through honda, cheeky marketing but everyone does it.

man, wot a bummer... yeah honda are probably the only ones who would stock the fabric, doubt recaro would have it... that's y they charge like $5k for a set of dc2r seats.

if it's $680 from honda, u mite as well go get a second hand one for maybe 7-800? then sell ur old one. would work out way better, don't need the hassle of replacing the seat bottom.

anyways, good luck
