general question these headlights have bumps where the lights come out on them and their plastic, if i retrofitted a glass casing rather than that plastic one with a flat surface rather than 2 spherical one lighting improvements? illegal?

I think the fact that the lights are aftermarket and not ADR approved makes them illegal. Replacing the plastic with glass is not going to get you into any more trouble as long as the modification isn't overly obvious.

i know generally with lights u can get away with, question, with aftermarket lights some of them the lens outside seem to be design to shape the beam. or they look like they do, but if i were to replace that lens with a glass lens that is continuous and flat rather than having those round bulges would effectiveness of the light change, are they design for a certain purpose?
