5th gear pops out into neutral

While I was driving, I switched to gear 5 and about a few seconds later it will pop into neutral. Is there something wrong with my syncros? I am suspecting that I don't put the gear in properly, but I have switched it to gear 5 the same way since i bought the car.

few seconds later ? not normal.
Any grind/crunch ? Is reverse the same (might pop out or difficult to get into) - possibly look at your shift linkage too.

Anything else about the gearbox that has been touched recently ?

Mine does that too! I need a new clutch and Hanny's is doing it on Monday. I'll let you know what happens. 5th gear crunches at times, 1st, 5th and 6th pops out on mine. Also 4th gear is whining. I think thats a flywheel problem but. How much is it to recondition gearbox for K20?

haha. found out that the way i switch gears sucks. so yeah everything is good now. gearbox got checked by my mate, said its still fine. thanks for the help guys. Let me know how you go denrie.
