View Full Version : speaker sizes in eg4 gathers system

hey guys, im just upgrading my speaker system, i have the gathers system where theres 2x long speaker sections that contain 2 speakers each, what size are the actual speakers? 6 inch? also what size are the front 2 speakers?

upgrading gathers system?.. ive seen on the for sale thread.. people selling gathers speakers.. what makes them so good?.. and RARE?.. =S sorry for hi-jacking ur thread

are you sure they are for AUDM EG, and not for EG6? they wont fit into your EG, unless you got the JDM EG5 20th Anniversary rear speaker setup.

no im upgrading with kenwood 6 inch speakers and putting them in the gathers holders all round (6 speakers)

can u post a picture man, i dont get wat you mean by Gather's all round?
but yeh u can fit 6" at the front, usually you gotta use a spacer though cause 6" speakers are deeper.

i think he means he has oem gathers in his car and is upgrading them, wanting to know what sizes he can fit

OEM Speakers are 4" front and back for EG5s not sure about the rest..

I've got 6.5" speakers in the OEM holes all round in my EG5

Fronts: use the plastic thing that holds in the stock 4" as a template... Cut a bit of wood 10/15mm thick to about the same outside size and test.. cut off any extra that's over hanging..
Then use the template that comes with the new speakers to cut out the center.. drill in the new wooden bracket then screw in the new speakers

Backs: just remove the steel brackets holding the stock speakers in place out.. just two or three screws and remover the speakers..

Angle grind or dremel out the inside of the brackets till the new speakers fit..

The 6.5" speaker hole will even line up without moding
