whistle sound

hi, i have an integra type s....bought it a few months back, been taking care of it since...got it second hand.

Recently i've realised that in while im in 4th gear:
1. The gear knob rattles abit compared to the other gears whereas other gears dont
2. I can hear a very subtle/quiete whislting sound....it sounds abit like a cold air intake

The car is completely stock. What could be causing this? is it engine related? or is my transmission starting to wear out? the cars only done 45,000 km's

1. screw the gear knob on tighter, or get a new knob.

if u have a pod filter that could be the whistling??

its 100% stock...so its not the pod filter.
Why is it normal to have it whistle in 4th gear and not in the other gears?

I have a feeling the noise you're hearing is the clutch release/throw-out bearing chattering away.

Mine does this aswell.
