Im abit of a DIY-er, but this civic has really got me scratching my head.

it has this weird clip screw thing that doesnt unscrew from the top of the box and it goes to the left and right only, or simple clips to remove it from the bottom section, i even got it out of its position and had a look underneath but nothing!

Ive tried to unscrew the 4 screws all the way to the right, and all the way to the left and then tried to keep them all in the middle...no dice :(

DIY FAIL...little help?

What do you mean by unscrew all the way to the left, all the way to the right and to the middle?

Bolt the airbox back into the engine bay. You undo the bolts that are on the airbox cover itself. After that you jiggle the top off, while the bottom stays secure in the engine bay.

in the 2nd picture, those screws that are in the top part of the box, they cant be unscrewed off.

when you turn it to the left it locks up, and the clip underneath that connects to the screw, just moves to that side you turned it to.

So ive turned or in a counter clockwise motion, with a philips screwdriver positioned them all to the left.

Then when that didnt work, all the way to the right, then my final thing was to just adjust it so the clips underneath are not touching either side.

hahaha noob alright

your screw driver wont do shit you dont have enough leverage

get the 8mm socket and spanner and undo as normal

real easy to do even for a noob

just listen, not that hard of instructions to follow

Ah, I see. The "clip" underneath should not turn when you undo the top. Like 90LAN said, use a socket and ratchet, not a screwdriver. That way you can undo the bolt without pressing down and causing the clip to slip.

oops i misunderstood about the 8mm 90Lan, i saw "8" on the bolts that were holding down the airbox and i assumed it was for 8mm haha so i thought you misunderstood me!

i didnt realise it would make a difference, anyways thanks to you 90Lan and AaronNg.
