Gday all,

I drive the 2006 Lux Auto. Just noticed that the right-rear tyre has noticeably heavier wear than the other 3 tyres, on the outer edge of the tyre.

I'm guessing that either the wheel is misaligned (toe/camber) or maybe there's a problem with the rear shock absorber which is causing the uneven wear.

Any thoughts:
a) What the problem could be?
b) Should I take the car back to Honda for inspection, or to a third-party (Bob Jane)? The car is still within the first 3 years manufacturer's warranty period.

Thanks for any help.

Wheel alignment is probably the largest contributor to tyre wear. Have a competent tyre service place do a complete wheel alignment (4 wheel) on your Euro. Has this been done anytime recently during your ownership of the car?

Other than the half-yearly servicing by Honda (unsure if this includes wheel alignment?), I have not taken the car to anyone else during the almost 3 years since i've had it.

Some of the recommended work items during a service includes tyre rotation, but I don't recall a wheel alignment being part of any minor/major service. A lot of the Honda service centers will bring it to an independent tyre place for wheel alignment, so you might as well just head there yourself to have it checked.

make sure none of the rear bushes are shot, is the car completely stock, has it been hit been in an accident on that side, ie, somebody has slammed into that wheel which has made it misalligned

Thanks for your replies.

The car is stock-standard, and has not been involved in any accidents etc.

Sounds like it's time to take it to a tyre-place to get it checked out.

One more - how much would it roughly cost for a 4-wheel alignment job for the Euro Lux?

Thanks

Varies from shop to shop. $70-90 is typical for a 4-wheel alignment...

Eurofan, have you taken it for an alignment yet?

I'm thinking of doing mine too but not sure who to use in Melb (10-15 km east side)

EDIT: Got my alignment done. Check the alignment in the 'where to buy' thread.
