why the hybrid? yes it has a cool interior/options etc..
but its slow. and its a hybrid lol

if you want deep dish rims. get a diff car make like a nissan or something.
Honda's weren't designed to hold deep dished rims. besides 16" low offset rims on a fd will look silly. the rims are too small. your better off getting an ek and putting 16" low offsetted rims on it.

fd's dont slam that well either because of the design of the suspension.
the front will slam really well but the rear isnt the best because of the set up.. it will still go low tho, but "not on its guts"

with an offset of +45 you wont get much dish or even a cool concave look on ur wheels if u want them to slam it... unless ur gonna go for major camber. but i still dont know of any camber kits for fd that can give u significant negative camber

does anyone know much/had experince with the hybrid engine? like mods/servicing?

don't bother, seriously hybrid = fuel saving vehicle, you must use the special hybrid engine oil only available at Honda, why didn't you get a VTI ? it's cheaper brand new.
from memory the oil is pretty expensive, under body is plastic trimmed and similar set up to that of the Euro, they had some sort of a fuel pump recall back in 06 I think it was.

threesix
27-10-2009, 02:24 PM
the honda hybrid oil is that $$$$$$$$????

i like the extra body trim , features and i wanna save money on fuel cause i drive heaps.

shadou
27-10-2009, 02:29 PM
then don't bother trying to make it look flash, it's designed differently from other civics for a reason.
As for the oil I'm pretty sure it's around $40-$50 for a 5L tin but that's my guess, ring the spare parts dep up and ask.

lol did i just read u wanted to know about mods for a hybrid?
BWHAHAHAHAHAAA

u wanna save fuel, get a vti manual or a jazz.

i just came back thailand where they do their hondas up hella good. i was almost gonna get a jazz and vip style it... then i saw this white stock body 2006 hybrid civic slammed on like 15 16" wire style and i SHAT IN MY PANTS.

as for asking about mods for the engine?? i know **** ALL about the engine.

lol

you want to save fuel then dont mod it..

19"s are heavier then stock therefore you gonna use more petrol.

... seriously ? You took my quote and twisted it, I meant my quote as the civic hybrid is designed as it is to minimise wind drag and from my memory the rims are very light as it is (alloy).

Why don't you go lightweight rally wheels? They can look alright, but give the total wrong look of the car lol

lolwut? is there a significant difference in the body of the fd3 compared to the fd1 and fd2? imo they look exactly the same except for the fact that the hybrid comes with the roof antenna and the ugly hybrid alloys. but are the wheels seriously light?

FDBenni
28-10-2009, 05:38 PM
I think the ducktail spoiler on the FD3 is actually meant to be more aerodynamic, and I think also it has some under body shield thing so it has less drag.

ekdez
28-10-2009, 06:15 PM
it costs $10g's more as well LOl

threesix
29-10-2009, 08:26 AM
ive got the car lined up. 2006 civic hybrid/28km/greyblue/ten year warranty = 19k.

wouldnt go rally style. gonna go vip i think.

shadou
29-10-2009, 05:51 PM
pretty sure the body has subtle differences between the hybrid and the regular FD models, I haven't touched one in ages. Maybe someone who works at a Honda dealership can clarify exterior differences other than the obvious spoiler and rims

threesix
08-11-2009, 09:29 AM

threesix

lip kits arent over the top. nearly everyone in here has the mugen front and rear lips plus sideskirts. thats all you need to look clean.. but the factory modulo ones can look pretty good as well.

mugen lip: (as kevin's car demonstrates nicely)

modulo lip:

there's many other brands i assume, but these are the most common ones and easiest to source.

42 or lower on coils

threesix
09-11-2009, 12:06 PM
cant afford coils atm but springs should go low enough though hey? i just want a bit of tuck...

J-Spec23
09-11-2009, 01:12 PM
springs drop 3-4cm only..
unless king springs make super lows for fd's

aero
09-11-2009, 02:20 PM
yeah if ur goin with 18x7.5 an offset in the +40s should be fine and u can just drop it on skunk2 springs or something for the mean time if u dont have the budget yet for coils. skunk2 springs give like a 2.25" (5.5cm) drop at the front and 2" drop at the rear (5cm) which is pretty decent for looks.
