fibreglass base & carbon fibre overlay is definitly illegal

pure carbon fibre is open to interpretation

actually quite a few ppl here use the fibreglass base with cf overlay
its alot cheaper then getting a real cf hood

Lottsa good places to shop for things in SG, sussy's i find are quite cheap over there compared to here

karbonphyber

basically everything in sg is cheaper than anything in aus.
that's why i'm purchasing stuff from singapore to bring over.

i heard the carbon skinned bonnet is rather illegal

sheesh...... the closest midway meetup is sitll 500kms. LOL

i heard all CF body parts are illegal... something to do with the CF breaking in sharp, spike like shards with could hurt u :)

karbonphyber

definitely, that's why i was curious if there was a need for engineering. in singapore, it's fine.

bleh just paint it black, does the same bling bling job on a fraction of the cost and it ain't illegal

whats the point of painting your bonnet black if its not CF?

EG4
23-11-2004, 08:34 AM
its the whole bling bling factor

i heavily doubt he's going to take it to track, and even then to make it effective he should be stripping his car.

But i'm guessing its all for the looks, so y not just paint it black. Coz i could be wrong

i guess you're wrong this time mate.

that's why i was asking if there was a track day organised by OH.

well... stripping the car is the norm but i won't do it unless it's really that important.

i've spent almost a year in newcastle without going to track, i feel so rough at the edges now. everyday i'm studying and no time on track or training....sigh..it sucks to feel this way.

EG4
23-11-2004, 12:09 PM
ok my bad

but if ur going to track then i'm assuming ur getting a whole cf hood that must cost sum $$

The whole point of CF is not bling anyway. Its weightsaving. IMHO if you cant afford a CF bonnet leave your bonnet as it is.
You dont want people coming up to you and calling you a ricer for trying to pass your stock bonnet for CF :S

egSi
23-11-2004, 12:33 PM
black bonnets r ****ing gay.

cf hoods r cool.

i have gutted my eg and heaps of other shit too, if u say my car is 'blinged' id kick you in the ****ing face.

EG4
23-11-2004, 01:03 PM
you guys might say ur car is for track blah blah

true u might take it to track, but none the less the majority of ppl who look for cf hoods only do it for the bling factor

egsi, don't threaten violence on the internet only makes u look like a keyboard warrior

besides the bling was in general reference ;)

LatinoHatchCrap
23-11-2004, 01:11 PM
not trying to be an ass but instead of calling it the "bling" factor it should be called the "try-hard" factor.

egSi
23-11-2004, 01:22 PM
eg4, joke dude :)

iom not in the majority btw ;)

EG4
23-11-2004, 01:23 PM
ahh well bling/try-hard/rice all the same

same shit different smell really.

u'd best to ring up the RTA in your state to confirm, unless someone here works there/has memorised the RTA Guidelines, to get a direct and true answer.
