changing brake pads for a 2001 CIVIC VI. Ordered a pair of TRW Pads as Bendix ones ran out, the ones I got (TRW #GDB325) is for Honda S2000......

I'm very surprised if they both share the same pads, anyone can confirm this?

I believe they are different. as S2000 will require bigger pads for stopping, also the caliper shape will be different too.

I can check tomorrow and let u know from Honda.

VI civic uses the same as the VTIR civic (EK4) and later model 2000 Civics(EK).
Its the larger brake (there are 2 types for civics earlier 98 models are smaller and later 2000 models are bigger, '99 year ones can be either depending the car)

I changed them recently for my gf.

Try Bendix ultimate next time. top of the range
I've been using them on my Jazz and never wanna go back to OEM pads.
They grip really well. costed $157 front pads only

Where'd you pick those bendix ones up? Do they leave much brake dust? and is there fade during heavy usage? I'm looking to change front and rear on my Civic Vi, as I'm coming up to the 100k km service. PM me if you could please.

U can pick them up from supercheapauto or Repco.
supercheap is the the cheapest. I paid 150buck for the front pads. they do leave some dust but it doesn't really worry me coz I'm so happy with them. how do u mean by fade? I've had no problems with them. big big improvement

fade means losing grip, every pads has its own maximum braking temperature.

during track days with lots of braking, the temperature of the pads will rise rapidly. Some pads will fade because the temp has gone beyond its limit.

getting pads for the CIVIC VI has been a pain in the ass...
The two pads from the Bendix Catalogue that seem to be correct do NOT fit on the VI, so my suggestion is either bring/trace the old pads and bring them to Bursons/Repco for a guarrentied fit. Not a big fan of supercheapauto/autobahn..

If you are worried about brake fade, you are probably driving the wrong car :)

wats brake fade got to do with the wrong car.

it about choosing what pads u get, if your smart u would know what u need for your application

simple, why would you bother to push the brakes to its limit on a VI??;)

well if sum1 decides to take it to the track you would need a higher temp brake pad.

obviously i said u need it different pads for different applications, obviously is its street driven and the OEM feels spongy go get a better brake pad just dont go crazy on it other wise you will wear your rotors.
