Me vs VR-X Mirage vs Astra 1.8 vs Series 2 RX7

Hey guys, went for a bit of a hoon the other night, had afew car cruising together, anyway, i just recently spend 1k on my motor getting it tuned and running at it 110% best so i was ready to take on afew cars...

was at the lights, in a 4 land road,

Basically it was me (ek4), Mates VR-X Mirage, another mates dumped Astra (he thinks it hammers) and a mates series2 rx7 12a rotor....

The lights changed, 1st gear as soon as my vtec hit astra and mirage still at the lights, with the rotor next to me side by side, 2nd gear rotor still there till vtec kicked in and i just pulled away.... :wave:

All i can say is, whenever another red light came they all pulled up behind me rather then next to me...

Firstly - good kills - would have been more interesting had it been a 2.2 astra - they are slightly quicker, but not much - the 1.8s are SLOW!!! The 12a RX7 was a good addition, but they are only 88KW standard from memory - but they are light

HOWEVER - You said in second gear, you were side by side with the RX7 til you hit VTEC - That means you changed gears WAY too early. You should be able to floor it right to the rev limiter, drop it into second, and it will still be on HiCam - with a little bit of wheelspin

Well i wasn't expecting to get the rotor, after i seen it chop a work calais!

i shift at a bit under 8400 rpm when i decide to play with my car
and it lands at a tad under 6000 rpm in 2nd gear

what did u do to ur engine? tuned? as in u got an ecu? or cleaned up / rebuilt etc?
