Just out of curiosity has anyone tried to do their Ps with a car with HIDs, i'm slightly concerned about when they ask you to put on high beams :S or would i be advised against it.

I would probalbly say, not to do the test with (illegal) HIDs on the car.

When I did my test they never asked me to put on my high beams (did test at 11 in the morning). But I am in Sydney. Running with (illegal) HIDs is just a bit of a risk which could prevent you from passing.

I wouldn't see a problem if the car had HIDs from the factory (e.g. Euro).
Its only aftermarket HIDs that are illegal.

Yeah, I didnt realise that Euro's came stock with HIDs.

If they come from the factory (not an eBay kit) then its fine.

if its stock HID's then its fine, seeing a good majority of cars now are coming with HID's anyway. I didnt get asked to turn my high beam on when i did it

They will NOT ask you do flick your high beams on, just maybe flash on you normal headlights, toot horn, check signals and brake lights, and point to demister front and rear, and turn on hazards.
