Hi guys.
I'm considering a to buy a car with engine converted.
Do anyone know about H23A?
How does this engine compare with B18c or H22a or K20a?

It's a DOHC non-VTEC engine. Makes about 119kw at the crank. Not bad for pulling a car but not exactly the sport-engine of choice.

Depends on what you're looking for in the car mate.

EDIT: It won't go as hard as the B18CR, K20 or H22A. I'm assuming it's in a bigger Honda?

H22A2 2157cc 10 87x91 DOHC VTEC 212Nm@5300 147kw@7000
H22A4 2157cc 10 87x91 DOHC VTEC 212Nm@5300 147kw@7000
H23A1 2259cc 9.8 DOHC VTEC 209Nm@4500 118kw@5800

found this info.
so H22a produces better power. hmm

Not sure where you got your info from. H23A1 is non-VTEC and has a black rocker cover. The H23A1 is also NOT a JDM engine and has a redline of 6500 rpm.

The H23A DOHC VTEC (no number after the "A") has a blue rocker cover, makes 147kW and revs to 7000 rpm.

you can extend the revs in a h22 but you wont be able to get into gear!

btw the h23 is a very rare and good motor, its a h series frankenstein, h23 bottomend with h22 head!

you can only extend revs with aftermarket ecu or with a ecu chip. There is no reason to extend revs unless you have mods to support.

h22 gearbox syncros are not made to be shifted past 7800 revs. Or at least it wont go in between 2nd and 3rd gear shifts.

The Hi-Comp guys have no trouble shifting at 8,400rpm.

There are two H23A engines, one that came in the Preludes is a DOHC non-VTEC and the other came in the CH9 Accord Wagon SiR which is DOHC VTEC and is essentially a H22A with a longer stroke.

Technically DOHC non-VTEC is a H23 or H23A#, H23A is DOHC VTEC

I just happen to have one of these mystical DOHC VTEC H23A motors in my CH9 Accord Wagon SiR :P
