Hey gang,

Kinda new on the OH forums, and looking at re engineering the air intake system. (like Honda got it wrong anyway:p)

A quick search brought up heaps of different systems and methods but wondering if anyone is using this carbon barrel/air filter set up:

I had it on a Golf i used to own and im looking to fit it to the euro.

I remeber it sounded F#!*ing awsome on the golf.

My only concern is the filter element is OIL BASED and i dont want to stuff and sensors ie MAP, AIRFLOW etc. Killed a couple of airflow meters in my last Audi cause of the oil.

Cheers in advance

P.s, man do i love the Euro's! Got the Skyline for speed but Euro for everything else...

K&N filters are oil based and i have one of them as a panel filter and it hasnt hurt me =D

There are heaps of brands out there... alot of people recommend Injen and some other fuji something or other... =P

mostly people get pods i went panel... might get a pod later =P lol

Fitted the BMC/CDA carbon intake the other day and.............. VERY HAPPY CHAPPY!!!

1. Noticable power increase down low (mind you nothing to blow ur mind but noticable more witht the AC on)
2. Washable unit= cheaper for maintenace
3. MAYBE more power up top but nothing to write to your mother about
4. Sound is FREEDKING NICE!! (compared to the standard air box minus resonator)
5. Did i mention the sound is FREEDKING NICE!!

Well worth trying if your looking for a new intake set up.

Yeah it aint cheap but there is science and engineering to the internals..
Its not JUST an enclosed pod like you would imagine..

It looks kinda stock too which always helps with the fun Sherifs!
