basically i have a d15z2(EG breeze) box and replacing the input shaft bearings atm and wondering if the gearing is the same as a d16a8(EG Si).

also, its normally just the input shaft bearings that's the problem and not the countershaft bearings also? and where is the best place to buy them?

regards,
Michael

Gearing ratios ? No.

no its not the same gearbox.

As for the bearings , YES replace the input shaft , counter shaft bearings (needle bearing and both upper bearings) main shaft bearing etc. Its easy enough to replace them all when the gearbox is apart.

Honda bearings are generic NTN or NACHI , and as long as you can get the physical part numbers off the side of them you can get them at places such as ABC bearings. google it.

The d16a8 gearbox shares same/similar B series parts.

IT has 2 major things different.

1. Slightly larger INPUT shaft (same as b series)
2. Slightly larger driveshaft housing (where the driveshafts go in) (same size as b series)

All OTHER d series gearboxes and drive shafts are the same thing and entirely compatible.
