View Full Version : DIY spraying rims ??? compressor size?????

ok just wanted to know if a compressor with 140psi is enough for a spray gun to paint my rims.

It's not really about the pressure as far as I'm aware. 140psi is pretty frikn high. Most tools work at around 90psi and the high volume low pressure spray guns work at less than that I think. The more important spec is the tank size and the motor size. Tank size will determine how long you can spray continuously without the pressure dropping below the required amount for an even spray. The motor size will determine how quickly the pressure recovers once it drops below your desired amount. Basically the bigger the better.

^^^ lol yeah i know but they dont have the colours and paint type i need in cans, so i was thinking y not get a small compressor and air gun for cheap that i can use again and again.
