on my H i dont have AC however, the AC condensor is still there as the accesory belt requires it. if i were to buy a shorter accesory belt that cancelled the need for the AC and had it running straight to the alternator would this have a negative effect on the alternator?
it will be spinning the alternator much faster as the belt is much shorter, could this be bad for the alternator or battery?

Shortening the belt isn't going to make it spin faster. The pulley ratio is still the same. I've done it. I can't think of any negative effects.

when you say condensor I thnk you mean compressor.
the adjustment is done by the altenator, so if you find a shorter belt you migth be able to pull it off.

its around the 900's cant remember. Just get a string or fishing line and measure it and get the same length.
