Hey guys, i had posted this up but no one replied. My speedometer on my 2003 Euro manual has stopped working. When the car is first started it does not rev past 4500rpm but after 5 minutes the check engine light comes on and it revs properyly. An ideas on where the speedometer sensor is and why this problem is happening. The speedometer always stays on zero with no movement.

The second question is how do you remove the splits from the dash, and im thinking of keeping stock head unit with after market speakers and aftermarket 6x9s. i will also usee an rca convertor. Although i dont want a sub. ANyone done this, good results?[/QUOTE]

you get a small screwdriver and pop the cover off for the tweeters im not sure but i think they are just clipped in there its not as hard as u think. and for the door speakers u need to pull the cover off the inside of the door handle and undo to those two screws, then u need to get a small flat head again to pry off the face of the door handle. (the silver plastic part) and then undo those two screws, then u need to get an old rag, cover your screwdriver with it and pry it between the plastic door trim and the metal part of the door, and then just lever it with your hands and it will all unclip. :D

I have done an aftermarket stereo with my car keeping the stock headunit, i dont have an RCA converter. they are not needed, all good amps have them built in....... i only put one on my subs because i had a interferance problem - that disappeared with a better battery. its really quite easy to get to the internals in euros i find, i had the centre console out to put in a sub controller and ipod input and it was easy to do. you should have no problems if you do PM me and ill try help.

When idle, the rev limiter comes in at 4500rpm. Thats totally normal. As for the other issues, no idea.

When the car is first started (engine cold), you should not rev past 4500 rpm as it will cause damage.

Is the limiting happening when the car is stationary or when you are driving the car?

yeh i know, i don't rev high when its cold. SOmetimes itt takes 10 minutes for the light to come on, and this is while im dricving and idling. Therefore until the liught comes on it will not rev past 4500

No idea what's wrong mate, maybe something to do with your clutch/flywheel problems you had before?

If you can't work it out go to honda and see if they know whats causing it

Get the check engine light code read by a mechanic.

Everyone, if anyone knows how the speedometer is read i would be so grateful. Thats all, whether its off the gearbox or abs sensor on the wheel hub

Through the wheel speed sensor on the wheel hub.

Weird, didn't see that when I had my gearbox off. Only had a reverse gear switch for the lockout.
